Everything You Need to Know About Hatchimals and Several Tips
WHAT ARE HATCHIMALS?
[Update: We’ve noticed that some stores are currently stocking Hatchimals in larger quantities. Please contact us and share some tips!]
Hatchimals are magical creatures that live inside colorful spotted eggs. The eggs are white with purple, green, blue and pink spots, measuring approximately 10 inches tall and weigh 1.76 pounds. While the Hatchimal is in its egg, there is a limited choice of what color the Hatchimal will be. During the time the Hatchimal is in the egg, you can tap on the egg and the Hatchimal will tap back. Some cool features is that you can listen to the Hatchimal’s heartbeat, and once you turn the Hatchimal upside down you can see its eyes light up from inside the egg. That’s pretty cool! This toy teaches kids responsibility for caring for the Hatchimal while in the shell and once it breaks free.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY HATCHIMAL WILL HATCH?
Once the Hatchimal is ready to peck through the shell, a glowing rainbow will be visible inside the shell. That indicates that the Hatchimal has been played with and loved. You will also hear a special song! Get ready for the next part of your adventure.
WHY ISN’T MY HATCHIMAL HATCHING?
Some Hatchimals need additional love. Try touching the shell more often to encourage the Hatchimal to peck through. But don’t do it too much or the Hatchimal may feel dizzy or sick.
WHAT DO I DO ONCE THE HATCHIMAL HATCHES?
Ready for the next step? Once the Hatchimal hatches, there are three stages: baby, toddler, and kid. You can now teach it to walk, talk, and pursue various other actions. Do you want to teach your Hatchimal to dance? That’s a fun option! The Hatchimal will grow with your child unlike a Furby that only develops two life stages.
HOW DID HATCHIMALS GET SO POPULAR?
At the annual Toy Fair, Hatchimals won several awards, and received the “Coolest Toy Award” by Savvy Auntie. You may be thinking that this is just a Furby knock-off. Well, it’s close, but the life cycle really differentiates it. Plus, you don’t know what type of Hatchimal you’re going to receive until it hatches. There’s so many surprises and unique characteristics, that each person will have a different Hatchimal experience.
Hey, where’s the Hatchimal app? Guess what, there isn’t one. That’s right, the point of the Hatchimal is to stay connected to the Hatchimal without the screen. Of course we encourage you to take pictures and videos of your Hatchimals, but the point is to care and love for your Hatchimal without being tied to a phone.
